The second diagram no. refers to those vans built for the Railway Executive, in the First War, with a 2 inch narrower body width for greater route availability on the British railways.
The vans were allocated to at least ten British companies: the South Western, Caledonian, Great Eastern, North Eastern, London & North Western, Great North of Scotland, Metropolitan, Cambrian, Great Central & North British railways and at the end of the war sold to these companies at a knock down price; many survived into British Railway days.
